Hi, We are currently running a large RHOSP infrastructure (based on TripleO) and are wanting to move to a new distribution (long story). We recently became aware of Airship as SUSE are planning to use it in their next Openstack release - https://www.suse.com/c/suse-openstack-cloud-technology-preview-takes-flight/ Some questions - Airship v1.0 is released and states here https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Airship_v1.0_Release "The v1.0 milestone marks production readiness of Airship for the enterprise." Can anyone point me to some production use cases of Airship? Are there any companies offering Enterprise support for Airship today? Many Thanks
Charles, AT&T is using Airship to deploy and manage our Network Cloud regions. This is a very large scale deployment that is foundational to AT&T's 5G Network. For more on this: https://about.att.com/innovationblog/2019/04/devops_and_5g_with_airship.html https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGWNYeDhHIw&list=PLKqaoAnDyfgp8YjZbzjVrmZBJR9thV27y&index=9&t=0s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy0JQzqqJzA&list=PLKqaoAnDyfgp8YjZbzjVrmZBJR9thV27y&index=8&t=0s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnF-8wXdOaY&list=PLKqaoAnDyfgp8YjZbzjVrmZBJR9thV27y&index=6&t=8s Also SKT is using the Armada Airship project for their platform. There are others, can I cannot share those as they have no publicly talked about their use plans as yet. Re support for Airship. I would suggest talking to SUSE (Kurt Garloff @ garloff@suse.com ) , and to Mirantis (Boris Renski @ Boris Renski brenski@mirantis.com ). Let me know if you know any other information in helping to assess Airship. I could also arrange a deep dive of the project with some of the community leads if you would like. Yes, our technical preview was based on Airship 1.0. This exercise is now over. Our product will most likely be different technically than our technical preview. It's too early to disclose the content of our next product. We still intent to leverage upstream openstack/airship as much as we need. And... We are active in the community to make this a reality! :) Regards, JP
